Abstract: The first Italian collections of Daleomyces stictisporus are described based on findings made in Apulia (Italy). This contribution is also accompanied by colour photographs of fresh samples in habitat, and microscopic characters, line drawings, phylogenetic results and an updated key to the genus Daleomyces.
At the beginning of January 2024, the first author had the opportunity to cross an olive grove with uprooted old trees due to a Xylella fastidiosa infection and discovered on the clayey soil a rich colony of small discomycetes.
