Abstract: The review of the type material of Trichophaea subalpina, combined with a molecular analysis, repositioned this species in the Pseudombrophila clade into the Pyronemataceae s. lato. The species is combined in the genus Pseudombrophila despite a taxonomy not totally resolved through the phylogenetic analysis
