Abstract: Here we report and illustrate the occurrence of Lachnellula arida (W. Phillips) Dennis in three different locations at the vicinity of the world-famous Valley of Marvels (Mercantour National Park), in the French department of Alpes-Maritimes. We briefly discuss the relative scarcity of this species in French Alps and the microscopic features that distinguish L. arida from its closest relative L. flavovirens (Bres.) Dennis
