Abstract: A new species of Barssia (Helvellaceae) is described from Greece based on morphological and genetic studies. Macroscopic images of fresh specimens, as well as observations made under an optical microscope, drawings and a 28S nLSU phylogenetic tree are provided. The present work is also accompanied by a brief discussion and a key to the known species of this genus
