Abstract: The authors report a detailed morphological study of Pseudoplectania nigrella, based on collections from Austria, Italy, Greece, Germany, Estonia, Finland, as well as those housed in Persoon’s collection of Leiden Herbarium (L). A neotype is selected among the Austrian collections housed in Klagenfurt Herbarium (KL). Color pictures of fresh and dried material, microscopy, as well as B/W plate are provided
