Abstract: A key to the non-lichenicolous Capronia species is presented and Capronia holmiorum is proposed as a nomen novum to replace Capronia collapsa (K. Holm & L. Holm) O.E. Erikss. nom. illeg. Several names placed in the genera Berlesiella, Capronia, Dictyotrichiella and Herpotrichiella are discussed at the end of the key
