Basionym Warcupia terrestris Paden & J.V. Cameron, Can. J. bot., 50 (5): 999 (1972).

Diagnosis Cleistothecia globosa, brunnea, superficialia, dispersa, 230-300 µ in diametro, glabra, peridio e cellulis polygonicis composito, sine ostiolo, sed matura in parte superiore dehiscentia. Asci octospori, unitunicati, cylindracei vel late clavati, 45-75 × 14-22 µ, e toto circuito interno exorientes, lente deliquescentes. Ascosporae continuae, hyalineae, ellipsoideae, laeves, 2-guttulae, 12.5-15.5 × 6-7 µ, sine poro. Paraphyses cylindraceae, hyalinae, ramosae, 2 µ in diametro.
Typus est DAVFP 20100, e solo circa Universitatum Victorienses, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
