Basionym Ascophanus pallens Boud., Bull. Soc. mycol. Fr., 4 (1): 47 (1888).
Diagnosis Minutus, 1-3 millim. latus, albidus aut albido-cinereus. Receptaculum hemisphaericum aut lenticulalre, sub-marginatum, exlus leve, hymenio plano aut convexo, thecis prominentibus longe papillato. Paraphysae hyalinae, saepius continuae, ad apicem incrassatae, ad basim divisae et septatae, apice 6-8 µ crassae. Thecae maximae, amplae, clavatae, octosporae 290-350 µ long., 35-45-crassae, operculo lalo aliquoties umbonato. Sporae maximae, oblongo-fusiformes, hyalinae, intus nullo modo granulosae, long. 40-45, latit. 15-20.
