Diagnosis Apothecia usque 40 mm diam, gregaria vel caespitosa, sessilia, cupuliformia, saepe irregulariter lobata, usque subauriformia. Discus rubro-fuscus vel ferrugineus usque luteofuscus. Pars exterior apothecii minute furfuracea. Asci 220-280 × 8-11 µm, cylindracei, octospori, amyloidei. Paraphyses filiformes, 4 µm crassae, septatae, apice sensim incrassatae (6 µm). Ascosporae 12-14 × 6.0-7.0 (-7.8) µm (ornamento exclusive), ellipsoideae, primum hyalinae, maturae fuscae, sculpturatae, cum costis crassis irregularibus et irregulariter formatis, saepe brevibus et isolatis vel raro etiam confluentibus. New Zealand: ad terram, s. dat., Colenso b 664 (Holotype, K); Colenso b 889.
