Basionym Otidea saliceticola Cartabia, M. Carbone & P. Alvarado, Ascomycete.org, 9 (6): 218 (2017).

Diagnosis Beside its unique genetic profile, it differs from its sister species Otidea bufonia, O. smithii and O. mirabilis mainly in the much smaller size, lower spore length/width ratio, and arctic-alpine habitat.
