Diagnosis Apothecia sat magna, (sicca) ad 5 cm aIta, dense aggregate caespitosa, substipitata, saepe basaliter concrescentia, contorto-cochleata vel poculiformia, uno latere usque ad basin incisa, margine saepe undulato-sinuosa, extus pallide umbrina-sepiacea, basin versus pallidiora, sub lente subtiliter furfuraceo- vel flocculoso-pruinata, hymenium pallide umbrinum-sepiaceum. Cupula ca. 700 - 900 µ crassa; pars fundi excipuli textura laxe intricata, pars parietis ca. 60-70 µ crassa, textura globuloso-prismatica, cellulis 11-10 × 10-15 µ, ad superficiem hyphas numerossimas breves (ad 100 µ longas) saepe ramosas exerens, cellulis hypharum vulgo subglobosis, oblongis vel clavatis. Asci 230-300 × 12-18 µ. Sporidia suboblonge ellipsoidea. (16-) 18-20 (-21) × 10-11 (-11) µ, 2-guttata, hyalina vel contente leviter fuscidula, laevia. Paraphyses filiformes, apice curvatae, sensim paullo clavulato-incrassatae ad 4 (-5) µ diam.
