Diagnosis Octospora schumacheri differs from other species of Octospora by stiff hairs covering the receptacle, broadly ellipsoid ascospores ornamented by prominent irregularly shaped warts with internal cavities, and the infection on the thallus of its bryophyte host Asterella lindenbergiana.
