Nanoscypha tetraspora (Seaver) Denison, Mycologia, 64 (3): 619 (1972).

 

Basionym Cookeina tetraspora Seaver, Mycologia, 17 (2): 45 (1925).

Diagnosis Apothecia gregarious or becoming confluent and occasionally several fused together, the hymenium plane or slightly concave, pale orange, reaching a diameter of 3–5 mm., externally whitish, strongly wrinkled, clothed with delicate fasciculate hairs; asci clavate, reaching a length of 200 µ and a diameter of 12–14 µ, 4-spored; spores ellipsoid, unequal-sided, usually containing two oil drops, 10–11 × 24–27 µ (rarely a little larger), often showing faint striations; paraphyses filiform, slightly enlarged above.
On decaying leaves of some palm, El Yunque, also on rotten wood, same locality.
