Diagnosis Distinguished from other species in the Esculenta clade by the slender conical pileus, typically curved at apex (Fig. 5A–B), which is longitudinally elongate pitted, with the pileus dull yellow brown or honey-colored or pale grayish, with paler ridges almost white and hoary-pubescent around the pits. Ascomata occurring in disturbed areas, often on soil, with ascospores finely corrugate under SEM (Fig. 5C); also distinct by the phylogenetic analysis of combined TEF1, ITS, RPB1, and RPB2 sequences.
