Basionym Luteoamylascus aculeatus Cabero, P. Alvarado & G. Moreno, Mycol. Prog., 15: 3 (2016).

Diagnosis Tomentose yellowish ascomata. Gleba forming labyrinth-like circumvolutions. Peridium consists of pseudoparenchyma. Asci amyloid. Spores globose measuring 13.5–16.0 µm without ornamentation, which is formed by large conical spines. Gleba has sterile paraphysis-like elements. Associated with Quercus pyrenaica in Spain.
