Imaia gigantea (S. Imai) Trappe & Kovács, Mycologia, 100 (6): 934 (2008).

 

Basionym Terfezia gigantea S. Imai, Proc. Imper. Acad. Tokyo, 9 (4): 183 (1933).

Diagnosis Ascomatibus subglobosis vel irregulariter globosis, giganteis, usque ad 10 × 15 cm. diam., primo pallidis, dein discoloratis, cortice suberoso carnoso, concreto, primo asperulo, demum caelato-verrucoso ; gleba leniter vena, primo albida, demum avellanea ; ascis subglobosis, late ellipsoideis vel obovoideis, breviter stipitatis, irregulariter positis, 2-8-sporis, 100-145 × 75-105 µ ; sporidiis globosis, prima hyalinis et laevibus, demum dilute coloratis et asperulis, 32.5-47.5 µ.
Hab. ad terrain in silvis. Hokkaido : Prov. Ishikari, Nopporo. Oct.
