Diagnosis Geomorium nahuelbutense can be distinguished from all previously described Geomorium species by its highly convoluted truffle ascoma found in Nothofagaceae forests in South America as well as distinctive morphological features, including ellipsoid ascospores that are 21.5–23.0 × 10–13.0 μm and ornamented with rounded, crowded warts.
