Diagnosis Fungus subglobosus regularis, vel irregularis, vel gibboso-sulcatus ab avellanae ad ovi gallinacei magnitudinem varians. Peridium laeve, crassiusculum plur. millim. mensurans, continuum, initio ochraceum, dein castaneo-badium, hic illic dilute rufescit. Caro pulposa, continua, initio pallide colorata, dein fuscata, umbrina; venis numerosis albidis, marmorata; quae venae nucleos fructiferos rotundos circumscribunt. Asci late ovati octospori, sine caudiculo, long 75, lat. 45 micr. Sporae sphaericae, fuligineae, diam. 15 micr. (sine aculeis), densissime echinatae.
Hanc speciem libenter appellem nomine Alfredi Fanfani de Flora Sardoa optime meriti et merituri.
Habitat in Sardinia – Territorio Orune, Aprili Majo.
