Basionym Jafneadelphus argentinus Rifai, Verh. Kon. Ned. Akad. Wetensch. Natuurk., Sect. 2, 57 (3): 89 (1968).
Diagnosis Apothecia gregaria, cupuliformia vel discoidea, sessilia, brunnea, 2-8 mm diam., verrucosa, verrucae ex hyphis moniliformibus brunneis compositae. Excipulum ectale 150-200 µ, e cellulis pallide brunneis 10-30 µ diam. (textura globulosa vel textura angulari) compositum. Excipulum medullare 80-120 µ, ex hyphis septatis brunneis 3-8 µ diam. (textura intricata) compositum. Asci cylindracei, octospori, 300-360 × 10-17 µm. Ascospori uniseriati, ellipsoidei, hyalini, verrucosi, juventute biguttulati, 17.5-21 × 10-12.7 µ. Paraphyses simplices, ad apicem subcapitatae, brunneae. — Hab. ad terram, prope Ushuaia Fuegiae, 18 Januarii 1964, I.J. Gamundi & M.E. Ranalli, ex BAFC 21702 typus est [BO, K].
