The asexual morphs of these fungi were obtained in culture and cultures were sequenced. The two new species are placed in Clonostachys, based on ascomata not changing colour in 3% KOH or lactic acid, clonostachys-like asexual morphs and phylogenetic comparison of LSU sequences with 18 known Clonostachys species}}
